Mitzi Adams

November 7, 1937 — December 4, 2014

Mitzi Lou Adams, age 77, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 in St. George, Utah. She was born November 7, 1937 in Batesville, Arkansas to Nolan Hayden Allen and Cova Faye Penn. Mitzi grew up and spent her childhood in Batesville. At age nine her family moved to Flagstaff, Arizona. It was in Flagstaff that she found the love of her life and on June 29, 1956 she married Roy Paul Adams. With a small family Mitzi and Roy moved to Mesquite, NV in 1971. Roy worked with the construction crew engineering and constructing the bridges going through the gorge. Mitzi loved to work with people and because of that love, she became the first City of Mesquite secretary. Mitzi would always go the extra mile and excelled in whatever she did. She loved working for the city, she had the chance to work for several mayors and council members, she loved people and people loved her. Mitzi loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Her life was her family; she looked forward to family visits and gatherings. In the summertime she loved to spend time with them working on the Jensen ranch in Lund, NV. She enjoyed her garden, especially when the rose garden bloomed in the springtime. Mitzi was very compassionate, and was loved by all those who knew her. Her family and friends will miss her laugh, her cold knees, her sense of humor, and her willingness to serve others. Survivors include her children, Pamela Gayle (Bruce) Jensen of Lund, NV; Roy Clinton Adams of Mesquite; five grandchildren; Marcee, Leslee, Zebulon, Whitnee, and Kade; eight great grandchildren; and one sister Ernestine Boyce. She is preceded in death by her eternal sweetheart, Roy; one brother and one sister. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Mesquite City Cemetery.
