Miriam Lina Nelson

Miriam Lina Siebach Hardy Nelson, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20th at her son's home in Las Vegas, Nevada, surrounded by three generations of family. She was born March 12, 1930 in Gloversville, New York to Rudolf Ernst and Frieda Lina Oertel Siebach. On November 9, 1951 she married Scott Merlin Hardy in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1962. On June 30, 1974 she married Donald Lister Nelson in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2001.

Miriam grew up in Gloversville, New York. She attended BYU where she met Scott. She raised her family in Las Vegas. After Scott passed away, she earned her Bachelor's degree and started teaching, later earning her Master's Degree. She was a life long faithful member of the The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints, and served in many callings, including as an ordinance worker in the Las Vegas Temple. She loved music, singing, playing the piano and gardening. Her most endearing quality was as a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include Rebekah (Tim) Smith of Ashland, OR; Lory (Ivan) Wollenzien of Beaver, UT; Alan (Elaine) Hardy of Boulder City, NV; Matthew (Laura) Hardy of Lake Stevens, WA; Merlin (Paula) Hardy of Las Vegas, NV; Julia (Gregg) Nielsen of Provo, UT; Jenny (Tay) Deering of Henderson, NV; 29 Grandchildren; 41 Great grandchildren; one brother and two sisters: Eleanor (Clyde) Knight; Elizabeth ( Larry) Young; Ralph (Muriel) Siebach. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Beverly Glen Ward Chapel, (375 N. Hollywood Blvd). Visitation will be Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 6 - 8 p.m. and again Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Beverly Glen Ward Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bunker's Memory Garden Cemetery.
