Miles Kent Nelson, 79, passed away peacefully November 23, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born November 19, 1938 to Miles E & Melba Swapp Nelson in St. George, Utah. He married Diane Clark on March 6, 1959 later divorced but remained friends. Married Nancy Anne Rasimas on January 2, 1988.
His early years were spent with his brother, Gary, on his grandparents’ ranch in Hatch, UT. He graduated from Provo High School in 1957. His love of cars later led him to own and operate Kent’s Conoco in Salt Lake City, UT for 40 years. Upon his retirement he and his wife Nancy moved to Mesquite, NV where he took great pride in his home and yard. He made many friends and was selfless in his willingness to help whenever needed.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy and brother, Gary. He is survived by brother, Ray, 3 daughters, Lori (Steve) Aikin, Kris (Mark) Humphries and Stacie Lynn Hicks, 5 grandchildren, Colby James Strong, McKenzie and Bailee Romero, Madi Humphries, Hilary (Mark) Boren and one great granddaughter, Taylor Boren. Also, survived by a niece, Kellie Ann (Andy) Vander Veur, and nephew, Dennis Nelson.
We would like to thank the surgeons and ICU nursing staff at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, UT., and also the Home Health Nurse, Julie Bracken, for their compassionate care.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date in Mesquite, NV.
