Mignon Ruby was a mother, a friend, an incredibly colorful, unique lady and she passed away at her home in Logandale on October 22, 2011. She was born August 12, 1942 in Santa Barbara, California to Fred L. Whitmore and Dorothy Rollins. Mignon grew up in Carpenteria, California. She moved to Warm Springs, Nevada in 1976. While living in Warm Springs, Mignon took great joy in raising exotic animals such as wolves, cougars and various other critters. In the 80's she moved to Logandale. She opened a store called, "Mignon's," for a short period of time that was located by Inside Scoop. She had many interests that included gold prospecting and she could be described as an avid "Rock Hound." She enjoyed the company of all animals exotic and domesticated. She was involved with the amateur radio club in the valley, where she met and made many friends. She is survived by her son, Shadd (Crystal and daughter, Alyssa Talbot) Blackwell of Logandale. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 at 5 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary Chapel.
