Michael Charles Westphal, age 18, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born August 18, 1993 in Dayton, Ohio to Charles Mark and Deborah Lynn Kuspa Westphal. Michael grew up in California and Montana. He graduated from Anaconda High School in Anaconda Montana. He attended college at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana before recently moving to Mesquite to work for the summer. He had plans to enter the University of Utah in Salt Lake City for the fall semester. He enjoyed running on his high school cross country and track teams, skateboarding, computer gaming, drawing and listening to music. He also enjoyed traveling around the world, especially a hunting safari trip to Tanzania in 2010. He will be remembered for his wit and sense of humor, his smile and his deep love for family and friends. Michael will be severely missed by all that had a chance to know him. Survivors include his mother, Deborah Westphal of Mesquite, NV; his grandmother, Roberta Kuspa of Mesquite, NV; his brother, Gregory of Salt Lake City, UT; his aunt, Andrea (Mike) Hale of Veneta, OR; great aunts and uncles: his Godparents, Peter & Patricia Spevak of St. George, UT; Joan LeCompte of Issaquah, WA; Irene VanDerBosch of South Bend, IN; Jim & Mary Kuspa of Crystal Falls, MI and Bill & Diana Miller of Mesquite, NV.
