Michael Kelly Shakespear, age 23, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in an auto accident in Logandale, Nevada. He was born March 14, 1986 in St. George, Utah to Kelly Tom and Janie Lynn Monk Shakespear.
Michael lived in Overton throughout his life. He was a highly motivated young man as he graduated both from Moapa Valley High School and from the Area Trade Technical School in Horticulture, all while working at the Arrowhead Service Station. Following High School, he went to work for the Clark County Parks and Recreation doing maintenance work. He loved the outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a hard working, young man who loved to help anyone in need.
Survivors include his parents, Tom and Janie Shakespear of Overton, NV; two brothers, Christopher and Robert, one sister, Kayla all of Overton; grandparents, Ruth Shakespear of Overton, NV and Tommy and Linda Monk of Logandale, Nevada.
A funeral mass will be held in his honor on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the St. John's Catholic Church in Logandale, Nevada. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 11 a.m. prior to services at the Church. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary, 702 398-3600.
