Michael Grant Jones, 76, passed away on August 8, 2019 in his home in Overton, NV. Michael was born on December 4, 1942 in Long Beach, CA to Martin Edward Jones and Jean Catherine O’Donnell.
Michael served in the U.S. Navy, and was a proud veteran and a true patriot. He loved his country and raised the flag in front of his home every day. He was a member of the VFW and supported many veteran causes. Michael served in the Vietnam War, and was stationed to protect and run a store for the other soldiers, and was attacked often. When Michael returned home, he worked for Great Lakes Carbon as a Calcine Operator for fifteen years. He made many friends during his time there, and became friends with Alex Quinn, who became his lifetime fishing buddy and brother. Michael loved fishing, and went boating with Alex and Gary often in the Lake Mead area. On one trip, Michael caught the Nevada State Record Catfish, weighing over ten pounds.
Michael is survived by his many friends and neighbors. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother.
