Merlin James Lamb, age 83, died Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born May 15, 1935 in Caliente, Nevada to Philip Carlton and Thelma Shumway Lamb. On July 31, 1955 he married Janice France Garzand in Pioche, Nevada.
Merlin lived his life in Alamo, Nevada. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union where he worked in construction and at the Nevada Test Site. He was always a cowboy at heart, he enjoyed working cattle with his dad. He loved being on his horse, hunting, trapping, fishing and being outdoors. He loved watching sports, especially baseball.
Survivors include his wife Janice of Alamo, NV; daughter, Debby (Ted) Leavitt of St. George, UT; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters: Sheryl Uhlig of South Jordan, UT and Rhea (Robert) Kelly of San Manuel, AZ. He was preceded in death by one son, Jim, one grandson Jordan, one sister Sarah and three brothers Glen, Shorty and Murray.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at the Alamo Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Alamo Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guestbook at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
