Max Lynn Frederick

December 18, 1947 — February 8, 2016

Max Lynn Frederick, age 68, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 at his home in Moapa, NV. He was born December 18, 1947 in Richfield, UT to Lynn H. Frederick and Beverly Idell Utley. He married Sandra "Sandy" Stearman on November 6, 1970 in the St. George Temple.

Max spent most of his childhood in Marysvale, UT. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea during the Vietnam Conflict. When he returned home he and Sandy started their family in Henderson, NV. He went to Dixie College in St. George, UT. They spent some years in Marysvale, and Henderson, until settling in Moapa, NV for the last 35 years. Max enjoyed going to the races with his family, spending time in the mountains, panning for gold, hunting, fishing and camping. His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Sandy; two sons, and three daughters: Rhonda (Jonathan) Blackwell of Moapa, NV; Wendy (Brandon) Butler of St. Augustine, FL; Joshua (Tiffany); Kacee (Ian) Stratton, both of Moapa, NV; Chase (Melissa) of O'Fallon, MO; 13 grandchildren; his mother, Beverly of Marysvale, UT; one brother and two sisters: John (Katherine) of Mt. Pleasant, UT; Jane Wiley of Antimony, UT and Jan Frederick of Marysvale, UT. He was preceded in death by his father Lynn.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Moapa LDS Chapel at 11:00 am. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel.
