Matthew Steven Gifford, age 31, died Friday, October 2, 2015 in Overton, Nevada. He was born April 16, 1984 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Steven Terry and Melanie Kim Walton Gifford.

Matthew grew up in Las Vegas until the eighth grade when his family moved to Logandale, Nevada where he graduated from Moapa Valley High School. He served an LDS Mission in the Australia Brisbane Mission. He graduated college with an Associate's Degree from Dixie State University, and was finishing his Bachelor's Degree with a Master's in Mediation. He enjoyed playing football, baseball and soccer. He loved time with his family and friends at the beach, hunting and camping in the mountains. He was a very bright young man, well read and he enjoyed politics. He loved sales, and people, and he loved his family.

Survivors include his mother, Melanie Kim and Michael (Stepfather) Cope of Logandale, NV; his father, Steve Gifford of LaVerkin, UT; four sisters and one brother, Stephanie (Spencer) Whitlock of Pleasant Grove, UT; Megan Cope of Las Vegas, NV: Melissa Cope of Vancouver, WA; Kaitlyn Cope and Derek Cope both of Logandale, NV; two nieces, Leah and Lillie; grandparents, Muriel Gifford of LaVerkin, UT; Sharon Cope of Las Vegas, NV; Curtis Cope of ID. He was preceded in death by his brother Zachary James Gifford, and his grandmother Norma Kay Walton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Stake Center. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel.
