Mary Ann Stevens

May 10, 1938 — April 2, 2012

MaryAnn Stevens, 73, passed away peacefully at home in Mesquite on April 2, 2012. Her life was quite the journey.

It began on May 10, 1938 in Mt. Carmel, PA as the 10th child to Frank and Anna Brezicki. After graduating from Mt. Carmel High School, where she was crowned prom queen, her journey took her to Washington D.C., where she worked for the FBI in the Justice Building. In December 1955 MaryAnn met the love of her life who also worked for the FBI in the finger print identification division. They married on March 2, 1957 and continued their journey of 55 years together. Their travels took them to Germany, Orlando, Dallas, Denver, Salt Lake City, and Long Island. Along the way, they built a family of 4 children and various pets. They left Long Island on September 11, 2001 to retire in Mesquite.

MaryAnn was a great and beautiful wife and wonderful mother. She will be remembered for her welcoming nature and delightful sense of humor.

MaryAnn is survived by her husband Gene of Mesquite, NV, three daughters, Linda (Tom) Stout, Nadine (Gar) Hendry, Julie (Doug) Rice, daughter-in-law Kerin, and son Michael. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Nash, Ashley, Elyse and Mitchell; brothers Edward and Norbert Brezicki and sister lrene Williams. She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Henry, Robert, Alfred, Bernard, and Rita.

The family extends their thanks to all of her wonderfully thoughtful friends and neighbors for their prayers and generosity. A celebration of her life is being planned for some time this coming October. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the ASPCA, or the charity of your choice in her memory.
