Mary Doris Skinner, 84, passed away on February 11, 2022 in Overton, NV. MD was born on December 8, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant, UT to Rowe Olsen and Josephine Menzie.
MD attended public school until the seventh grade and then attended Wasatch Academy until the eleventh grade. She left school and married Billy Gerage Seal, and they moved to Bermuda for two years as he was serving in the United States Air Force. Their daughter, Sheri, was born at this time; and Bruce was born as they moved to Cocoa Beach, FL. She and Bill were later divorced, and MD moved around for a time. In 1991, she moved to St. George, UT and became the manager of a Maverick Convenience Store, and later opened the Maverick in Overton, NV. She was a very hard worker, often working two full-time jobs to raise her little children. She later retired, and due to health issues, moved in with her sister, Bonnie, who took care of her in her final years. They were the best of friends, and spent lots of time quilting, scrap booking, and were always together. She was loved by many.
MD is survived by her numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, her sisters: Bonnie Jansson and Barbara J. Timothy, and a large extended family. She is preceded in death by her children, Sheri Chevez and Bruce Vincent Seal, and her brothers, Charles Rowe Olsen and Devere Menzie.
The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their Guest Book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com.
