Mary Sprague Putnam
Mary Sprague Putnam age 83 passed away June 7, 2010 in St. George, Utah. She was born in Overton, Nevada on October 18th, 1926 to Oliver and Betsey Leavitt Sprague.
She graduated from Moapa Valley High School in 1944. After high school she attended the Western Union training academy and worked at the Western Union in Las Vegas. She met an Air Force Officer and they were married and later moved back to his home in Chicago, IL. They had one son, Dryden Cope. They were later separated and Mary moved back to Overton. She later married William Grey Putnam and they had three girls, Patrice, Valerie and Cynthia.
Mary enjoyed doing crafts including sewing. She loved to read. Mary worked for the Simi Valley School District for 20 years and retired, moving back to Overton for a short time before moving to St. George.
She is survived by her four children Dryden, Patrice, Valerie, and Cynthia; a brother Leland Sprague; two sisters Annie Kiehl, Betty Perkins; nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren
The funeral will be held Saturday, June 12th at 10:00 am at the Overton 2nd Ward with visitation being one hour prior to service. Burial will follow burial at the Logandale Cemetery.
