Mary Ann Powell King, Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away at Mesa View Hospital in Mesquite, Nevada on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the age of 93.
She was born September 7, 1920 to John Taylor Powell and Mary Ann Smith Powell in Duchesne, Utah. She was the last surviving sibling of 13 brothers and sisters.
She married Charles King on May 27, 1939 and later divorced. During World War II she worked on the Tipple at the Hiawatha Coal Mine. She lived in Latuda after Charles returned from the War while working in the coal mine. She moved from Helper, Utah to Portland, Oregon in August 1951 where she raised 3 children. Her profession was housekeeping for the Plaza Hotel and many families in Portland. She later went into the medical field as a nursing Assistant. She later moved back to Salt Lake City, UT in 2009.
She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and we will miss her and her wisdom.
She is survived by Charlotte (Russell) Lewis, Salt Lake City, Utah, Cathleen (George) Langue, Mesquite, Nevada. She is preceded in death by her son Delbert (Theresa) King, Eagle Creek, Oregon.
She has six Grand Children, Russell Lewis II, Ronald Lewis, Paul Lewis, Mary Ann Kemp, Debra Kemp, Heather Mott. She was known as Toots to her 10 Great Grandchildren, Tyeson, Chelsy, Nicholas, Ryan, Lauren, Parker, Taylor, Madison, Mary Grace and Kyle.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 18 March 2014 at 12:30pm at Virgin Valley Mortuary. Grave side services will follow at Mesquite Cemetery.
