Martha D. Galbreath

Martha Dot Galbreath, age 95, died August 27, 2008 at her home in Overton, Nevada with her family at her side. She was born July 17, 1913 in Berrion County, Michigan to Harvey Franklin and Mable W. Heltzel Stine. On August 13, 1928 she married Howard L. Galbreath. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1984.

Martha grew up in Michigan. She raised her family in Elkhart, Indiana. In 1954 they moved to Tujunga, California where her and Howard lived until 1971 when they moved to Overton, Nevada. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and handicrafts. She was very devoted to the Church of the Nazarene in Overton. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family.

Survivors include one son and two daughters: Barbara Walker of Overton, NV: Jim (Janet) of Saugus, CA; Jean Ann (Allen) Chassey of Overton, NV; two daughters in law, Shirley of Sunland, CA; Betty of SC; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons: Robert, Richard, two daughters: Lucille (Pete) Ghrist and Dorothy. She was also preceded by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Community Church, 210 N. Andersen St., Overton, Nevada. A visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will follow in the Pioneer Hill Memorial Cemetery in Overton under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary, 702 398-3600.
