Marlene Adel Gollahon

Marlene Adel Gollahon, age 80, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada after a long illness. She was born September 10, 1935 in Spring Creek, Missouri to Perry Sr. and Myrtle Artili Burgess Eddleman. On July 22, 1959 she married Harold Dean Gollahon in Winter Haven, California. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2014.

Marlene grew up in the Ozarks of Missouri. After her marriage to Dean, they moved their young family to Las Vegas in 1963 and finally settled in Overton, Nevada in 1971 where they raised their family on a small farm, raising sheep, gardening and growing beautiful roses. Marlene worked alongside her husband, as they helped many young people raise animals through 4-H, and the Clark County Fair and Rodeo and Livestock Show. She was a talented baker and cook, sharing her southern cooking with everyone who stopped by. She loved to play bingo and spend time with her family.

Survivors include one son and five daughters: Deana (Jim) Starnes of AR; Debbie (David) Reynolds of Henderson, NV; Brenda Maxwell of MO; Connie (Ron) Baldridge of Las Vegas, NV; Jimmy (Danea) of Overton, NV; Stacy Alfonso (Jerry Corbridge) of Overton, NV; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one brother, Sam Eddleman of Lebanon, MO. She was preceded in death by one great grandson and one brother, Perry.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary with a visitation one hour prior to services at 9 a.m., and Wednesday night, August 10, 2016 from 6 - 8 p.m. also at the Moapa Valley Mortuary.
