Littlefield, AZ- Mark Leon Whiting, 50, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, November 9, 2013. He was born October 23, 1963 in Provo, Utah to Gloria Ruth Thorpe and Melvin Leo Whiting.
Mark was raised most of his life in and around the Springsville, UT area and has since lived in Texas briefly and Arizona. He was employed by Springville City for 19 years. He was one of 13 children, whole/half/step; it was family all the same to him. Mark had a love for food, computers, fishing, hunting, camping, gold mining, dirt bike/ four wheeler riding and most importantly, family.
He is survived by his wife Vicki; children, Seth and Cassidy; stepmother Bessie Whiting, eleven remaining siblings; Marcel, Rodney, Brent, Sarah, Abby, Mary, Linda, Elizabeth, Rose, Melvin Jr., Steve, and many more. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his younger brother David Whiting.
Mark is and was a loving father and will be deeply missed by all those who have been blessed to know him.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. (Mtn. Time) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Littlefield, AZ. A viewing will be held at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. On Saturday, November 16, 2013 a viewing will be held at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S. Springville, UT, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
