Marion Kay, age 68, died Thursday, March 8, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born June 29, 1943 in San Carlos, Arizona to Albert and Daisy Dewey Nosie. On June 4, 1973 she married Wallace Kay, Sr. In Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2001.
Marion grew up in Arizona. She graduated from Riverside Indian School and worked in California where she met her husband. They later moved to his home town in Moapa, Nevada where they raised their children. She enjoyed cooking outdoors, baking pies and caring for her children. She worked as a bus driver and as a flagger and foreman for various construction companies. She will be remembered for her dedication to her husband and children.
Survivors include her daughter, Lori "Bubba" Kay; her granddaughter, Katana Kay, both of Moapa, NV and her remaining family on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in Arizona and her dog, Goonie. She was preceded by her two sons, Wallace Jr. "Master" and Edwin "Tiny".
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Moapa LDS Chapel. A traditional Indian Sing will follow at the Moapa Tribal Building. On Sunday, March 18, 2012, service will be held at the San Carlos Apache Reservation, with final ceremony at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012. Interment will be Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 1:20 p.m. in the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
