Maria de Jesus Monjaras, 90, passed away on January 22, 2021 in her home in Logandale, NV. Maria was born on July 5, 1930 in Guanajauto, Mexico to Benito Murillo and Gregorio Vargas and was the eldest of seven children. Maria spent much of her childhood working on her family’s farm and working with her father, who was in the military. She met Andres Monjaras, and they were married in the year 1951. They raised their seven children together on their farm where Maria worked constantly to provide comfort to her family. She milked the cows and would make cheese, and was always caring for her animals and the small birds that would nest there. As her kids grew and later moved to the United States, they moved her to Logandale, NV to be closer to them. She was a strong woman, caring, and easy to love.
Maria is survived by her children, Cudberto, Jose (Jayleen), Matilde (Mirna), Antonio (Margarita), Angel, Andres (Josefina), and Hilario (Maria); her thirty-one grandchildren, her twenty-six great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Maria Guadalupe, Maria Ester, Amparo (Pablo), and Rosario (Raphael). She is preceded in death by her husband, Andres Monjaras, her parents, and her two sisters, Antonia and Socorro.
