Margaret Valentine, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2011. She had been a resident of Moapa since 1965. "Marge" was born on October 9, 1920 and raised on the Henrie Cattle Ranch near Elgin in the Meadow Valley Wash. A true cowgirl, she passed along her love of horses to countless friends and family members she taught to ride. For many years, she worked in the meat and deli departments at several Las Vegas grocery stores. A devoted mother and grandmother, she enjoyed hunting trips, ball games, performances and joyful celebrations with her loving family. She was preceded in death by pioneer parents Ethel and Ransom Parley Henrie, seven older brothers and sisters, husband Bill Wright, and husband Orrin "Val" Valentine. She is survived by her three sons, Lenard Wright and wife Cindy of Richfield, UT, LeRoy Wright of Moapa, NV and Sheldon Wright and wife Sharon of Albuquerque, NM; as well as ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Moapa, Nevada. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at the Logandale Nevada Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Virgin Valley Hospice or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Movement.
