Margaret Ann Carter, 84, passed away on November 20, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV. Margaret was born on August 16, 1935 in Riverside, CA to Elwood DeWitt Todd and Virginia Mae LaFrance. She met the handsome U.S. Navy sailor, Floyd Carter, and they were married September 10, 1955 in the Riverside area.
Margaret and Floyd moved their family to Overton, NV in 1972. She spent much of her time raising her children and taking care of her family. She was dedicated to attending the Baptist Church, and devoted her time and efforts in the service of God. Later in life, she would spend her days at the Overton Senior Center. Margaret was known for her smile, and she would always say hello to anyone who crossed her path.
Margaret is survived by her children, Pat (Tracy) Carter and Stephanie (Ed) Schmachtenberger; her sixteen grandchildren; her twenty-two great-grandchildren; her three great-great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Tenie Richardson and Elwood Todd Jr. She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Carter; her parents; her children, Debbie Hoyer and Jeff (Robin) Carter, and her brother, Lorin Todd.
There will be Viewing Services on Sunday, December 1, 2019 6-8:00 p.m. at Moapa Valley Mortuary, 5090 N. Moapa Valley Blvd., Logandale, NV. Graveside Services will be on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 10:40 a.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
