Mardy Marlan Walker, age 72, died Thursday, October 14, 2021 peacefully at his home in Mesquite, Nevada after fighting cancer for four years. He was born March 29, 1949 in Whittier, California to Schyler Frances and Louise Bernice Wakefield-Walker. On August 7, 1976 he married Darlené DuBarry in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mardy lived most of his life in Southern California. He enjoyed a career working outside as a carpenter. He relocated to St. George, Utah in 1991 and finally settled in Mesquite in 2005. He loved to be in the outdoors. In his early years that meant weekends at the lake, boating and jet skis or camping in the mountains. Later, his interest changed to Jeepin’ and off roading.
Survivors include his wife, Darlené of Mesquite; daughter, Cecilie (Mike) Hernandez of Kelso, WA; son, Joseph (Genie) Walker of Pahrump, NV; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Kerry.
