Marcene Mae Martin

September 12, 1921 — February 21, 2016

Marcene May "Tina" Martin passed on to the next life on February 21, 2016 after 94 years of a full life. Tina, or Teeny, as she was called, was born in St Paul, Minnesota on September 12, 1921 to Frederic k Williams and Daisy Doris Bush Williams. Tina married Donald James "Jim" Martin in 1941 and they had 5 Children: Larry (Linda) in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Tim (Deanna) in St George, UT, Terry (Pat) in San Marcos, CA, Lynne Martin in Overton, NV and William (Cynthia) in Phoenix, AZ. From those 5 children, Tina had 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren plus 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Tina spent her childhood in Clovis, CA where she lived across the street from the high school where she graduated. Right after graduation, she married Jim Martin, whom she had known for most of her life. Jim was in the Army and flew P-38's during WWII. After the war, Jim was in the Air Force so Tina and Jim raised their early family mostly in the towns around Luke Air Force Base near Phoenix. In 1959, the family moved to Las Vegas when Jim was transferred to Nellis Air Force Base. Jim then retired from the Air Force and had another career with the Clark County School District. Retiring again in 1982, Tina and Jim set up home in Overton, Nevada.

Although Jim was happy to watch baseball on the TV, Tina became very involved in people activities. She enjoyed working with the American Legion here in Overton. These were some of the same friends in her "movie" group and her bridge club. Jim passed on in 2007 and in 2012, Tina was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This provided an entirely new set of friends and people to invite to her home so she could give them a candy bar.

Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11 AM in the LDS Chapel at 1505 West Hinckley. Family visiting will be from 10 AM to 10:45 AM in the Relief Society Room. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
