Malcolm Hugh Rennings

Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed peacefully, the morning of December 25, 2017. Malcolm was born in Hollywood California to Thomas Hugh and Virginia Ellis Rennings. Malcolm grew up in Hollywood CA because his father was in the motion picture business, while his mother played piano for the movie theaters. Malcolm worked in the motion picture business for 42 years as a Sound Technician. Mal’s last big film was Star Wars Return of the Jedi. It was while working on a film in Moab, Utah Mal met his wife Toni. They were married in 1968 in Las Vegas Nevada and a year later was sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. They enjoyed 49 years together and for 30 years they made Mesquite their home. Malcolm proudly served his country during World War II for the US Navy where he played the bugle. Mal practiced his bugle and his trumpet and enjoyed playing. Mal’s 1st love was fishing but he enjoyed flying and riding his motorcycle as well.

He is survived in death by his wife Toni P; his sons Allen Dale Willard (Janice), Rick H Rennings; and daughter Michelle Watson; grandsons Dale Timothy Willard (Jeannie), Allen Willard Jr (Abbie) and 8 additional grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Patricia Harris of Orange County, Ca, a niece and nephew. Mal was preceded in death by his parents and one son James Rennings.

Viewing and funeral services will both be at the LDS Stake Center (100 North Arrowhead) on Wednesday, January 3, 2017. Viewing 9:30 – 10:30 am; funeral services begin at 11 am.
