Malcolm Glenn Kirk, age 49, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at his home in Logandale, Nevada. He was born October 20, 1962 to James Lowell and Joyce Carling Kirk in Provo, Utah. On January17, 1987 he married his college sweetheart, Julie Anne Handy in Las Vegas, Nevada. On August 24, 1996 they were sealed in the Las Vegas Temple. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2011. Malcolm grew up in Las Vegas. He was very proud that he could serve his country in the Army. Following his years at Ricks College, he and Julie lived in Las Vegas before settling in Logandale in 2003. Malcolm had a passion for the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fly fish, camp with his family, go 4-wheeling and spend time at the cabin on Navajo Lake. Malcolm had a charismatic personality which drew people to him. He was a master storyteller who could go on for hours on end. He will be remembered for his compelling personality, his friendliness, and quick wit, as well as his love for his wife and four sons. Malcolm was dedicated to the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was committed to the standards of the gospel and had great joy in his temple marriage. He was extremely proud of his sons devotion to their missions. Survivors include his four sons, Lance, Bryce and Pierce all of Logandale, NV; Elder Chase Kirk, serving an LDS Mission in East Santiago Chile; his father, James Kirk of Las Vegas, NV; three sisters and one brother: Michelle (Kevin) McClary of Indian Springs, NV; Monique Peters of Las Vegas, NV; Melissa (Tim) Planck of Mesquite, NV and Michael (Michelle) of Las Vegas, NV. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Stake Center. Visitation will be Sunday, November 20, 2011 from 6 - 8 p.m. and again Monday, November 21, 2011 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the Stake Center. Interment will be in Logandale Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
