Lyverda F. (Chambers) Bowen

Lyverda F. Bowen passed away on October 7, 2022 in Hillsboro, OR. Lyverda was born on November 20, 1926 in Rexburg, ID to Thurman Chambers and Rose Flamm. She married Reece L. Bowen on November 15, 1950 in North Bonneville, WA, and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple, Idaho Falls, ID in April of 1965. Reece later passed away on October 7, 2000 in Overton, NV.

Lyverda loved dogs, and raised and bred Miniature Pinchers for many years. She trained them to perform in several dog shows. She loved to collect turquoise jewelry. She worked as a cook for over ten years at IHOP in S.E. Portland. She was a caring person, and always serving others. She would volunteer much of her time at the Overton, NV Senior Center instructing a ceramics class. She loved her family and loved visits from her grandchildren. She loved fishing with Reece, and she holds the family record for catching the largest salmon.

Lyverda is survived by her children, Val Chambers, Reece L. Bowen, Jr., and Vicki Lee Roberts; her seventeen grandchildren; and her nineteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reece L. Bowen, Sr.; her parents; and her sisters, Ruth Hinkley, Jean Leatham Satterfield

A Viewing will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, 6-8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary, 5090 N. Moapa Valley Blvd, Logandale, NV, followed by a Graveside service on Saturday, October 22, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at the Pioneer Hill Memorial Cemetery, Overton, NV.
