Lynnette Wolfley

April 28, 1951 — July 9, 2015

Lynnette Gibbons Wolfley, age 64, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 after a valiant struggle with cancer. She was born April 28, 1951 in Afton, Wyoming to Morris Stanley and Della Mae Porter Gibbons. After high school, she met and married Craig Darwin Wolfley on June 20, 1970 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They moved to Etna, Wyoming and spent the next 16 years farming and ranching on Craig's father's ranch. During that time they added six children to their family.

In 1983, Lynnette and Craig went back to school at Utah State University and both earned degrees in education. August of 1985, Craig and Lynnette left their home in Star Valley and moved to Moapa Valley to teach school. In subsequent years, Lynnette continued her education and earned her Masters Degree. She always worked hard and did her very best, improving the world around her. She was an example to all. Over the years that she taught school, she touched many lives for good; encouraging everyone around her to excel and to always do what's right.

Throughout her life, she could always be found serving those around her. She was an excellent cook and often delivered meals and treats to friends and neighbors. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and served as Relief Society President, Young Woman's President, Choir Director and in many other positions. She could do just about anything and was known for her willingness to help. After cancer forced her to retire from teaching, She spent countless hours doing family history work. She crocheted afghans for every granddaughter.

Lynnette loved her family and loved the Lord. She did all she could to teach her children and grandchildren to love and serve one another and the Lord. She is survived by her eternal companion, Craig of Moapa, NV; four sons and two daughters: Robert (Kathy) of Panquitch, UT; Jana (Jason) Carter of Cedar City, UT; Matthew (Tara) of Moapa, NV; Jared (Lisa) of Moapa, NV; Angela (Jeff) John of Riverside, UT; Alan (Tessa) of Moapa, NV; 24 grandchildren with two more on the way; brother, Austin Gibbons of Afton, WY and sister, Gay Bastian of Axtell, UT.
