Lyla Laree (Hardy) Spendlove

Lyla LaRee Spendlove, 62, passed away on January 8, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lyla was born on February 25, 1961 in St. George, Utah to Kent T. Hardy and Dawn Marie Hufman, and was raised in Mesquite, Nevada. After graduating from Virgin Valley High School, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she met Don Spendlove. They were soon married in St. George, Utah on November 12, 1983. She worked as a dental assistant for some time before becoming pregnant with their first child. They raised their four children together in California, Arizona and Utah before moving to Las Vegas in 2006.

Lyla was always caring for her children and grandchildren. She loved making crafts, and had a tradition of making a special craft with her daughters and granddaughters every fall and Christmas season. She loved embroidery, cross-stitching, and sewing. She loved dancing, reading novels, playing on the beach, and spoiling her grandchildren with her shopping trips. She loved her kids and grandkids for who they were, sharing her positive perspective and goofy jokes.

Lyla is survived by her husband, Don Spendlove; her children, Jessica (Mario) Spendlove-Noriega, Krista (Troy) Spendlove-Pollock, Leanna (Rob) Clizbe, and Kyle (Joanne Garay) Spendlove; her grandchildren, Cecelia Spendlove, Sylvia Spendlove, Mason Pollock, Aria Ries, Kash Pollock, Luna Rose Spendlove-Garay, with Don Jose Angel Spendlove-Garay on the way; her step-grandchildren, Dakota Ray Alvarez, Treven Clizbe, Dylan Pollock, Tyson Pollock, Sabrinah Clizbe, and Scarlett Clizbe; her mother, Dawn Hardy; and her siblings, Alisia (Terry) Mast, Laura MacDonald, Donald Hardy, Val (Melanie) Hardy, and Nathan (Traci) Hardy. She is preceded in death by her father, Kent Hardy.
