Lydia Estrada, age 88, 24 hours shy of 89 was reunited with several family and friends on Monday, March 10, 2025 . She was born at a young age on March 11, 1936 or sometimes on March 17, 1936 depending on her mood. in Tyrone, New Mexico to Manuel Lujan and Juliana Gomez Guerra Chacon.
Lydia lived most of her life in Farmington, New Mexico where she worked in banking with Wells Fargo. After she retired she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to be closer to family. . Wells Fargo invited her to return to their company and she worked for them in Vegas for several more years. She was a hard working resilient and loving woman. She could be firm, sometimes stubborn and she always stood up for the weaker and disadvantaged. She will be remembered for her STRONG will and kind, generous loving heart. She taught us through example perseverance, long suffering, and extreme patience from all she endured . She had a deep love of Music which healed her heart and got her through the rough times.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved visiting with the Sister Missionaries whenever they came by her home . She would always of course, tell them she worked for Wells Fargo. We are sure they thought she drove a stage coach to work by the end of their missions.
Her kids and grandkids will always remember a Hershey bar in one hand and a cold coke in the other, She would rarely let go of either to make her much requested tortillas , do her physical therapy or during a movie. A pile of books, snacks, and word search puzzles were always on her bed. There was barely any room for her. But that's how she loved it, and don't you dare move any of it while changing the sheets. Did you know she worked for Wells Fargo? Well she did and she loved it! And they loved her right back!
We cannot express our deep appreciation for RN Lori and CNA Tana at Lorian Health Hospice Care enough. She loved them and always commented on how beautiful they were. With the spa-like atmosphere and music they were able to give her much needed massages and calm her anxiety and fears. They were so good they made us want to put ourselves in hospice. Also thanks to Lorian's Physical Therapist Rick for getting her to do the unbelievable. She was adamant that she didn't have to do anything she didn't want to do while explaining she didn't have to do any more reps, he always got in 10 additional reps. Magical.
Special thanks to our friend Brian Rebman, his son Ben , Terry, Lisa, and others at Moapa Valley Mortuary for their professional care of our sweet little fierce warrior. They go above and beyond with music playing at the cemetery as you arrive and have a microphone for all to hear. The lace tablecloth, printed the programs, music and slideshow. The extra touches did not go unnoticed . Give them a call, they are the only ones we trust with our loved ones.
Special thanks to Florist Sarah McKinnon for making the exquisite arrangement exactly as pictured. Give her a call for all occasions. Look at her stunning wedding centerpieces and ceiling arrangements. You can thank me later. (321) 890-9802 @rootedinbloom
