Louise May Hinman, age 92, died peacefully at her home on Friday, August 5, 2016 in Logandale, Nevada with family and friends by her side. She was born May 7, 1924 in Walsenburg, Colorado to Charles Jackson and Julia Lozinsky McAllister. On July 11, 1943 she married Mark Edward Hinman in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1986.
Louise lived most of her early life in Colorado. She raised her children on the family ranch near Yampa, Colorado. Cattle ranching life was difficult, feeding the ranch hands out on the range, managing the children and helping her husband. She loved the hard work and working the land. In 1973, they started wintering in Logandale, Nevada where they loved to fish on Lake Mead. She enjoyed gardening, watching the hummingbirds, baking, cooking and fishing! In Logandale, she was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She embraced the gospel and enjoyed serving in the Las Vegas Temple.
Survivors include two grandsons: Knight (Marla) Hinman of Littleton, CO; Justin (Alicia Aultman) Hinman of Englewood, CO and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Mark and one daughter, Donna Lee, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2-16 at 10 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary. A separate memorial service and burial of her ashes will be held in Yampa, Colorado at a later date.
