Lorraine Selley

December 5, 1924 — July 17, 2014

Ruth Lorraine Lake Selley, age 89, passed away at home on July 17, 2014. She was born December 5, 1924 in Ogden, Utah to Harold L. Stewart and Marguerite Young. Her parents divorced and she was raised by her mother and step-father, Lawrence C. Lake. She grew up and went to school in Davis County. On June 10th 1942 she married the love of her life, Calvin L. Selley, in Bountiful, Utah. Cal adorned her with the pet name Lor, you can see that around their property written in cement and engraved in all our hearts. Dad passed 52 days prior to her death, on May 26, 2014.

After retiring from Logistics Management at HAFB she enjoyed her family, traveling, and was an avid reader. Mom's smile was so loving that's all we needed to see to know that we were home. She will be so missed by her whole family.

Survivors include one son and three daughters: Karen (Michael) Stone of Logandale, NV, Courtney Selley of Newport, OR, Diane Haslam and Janet (Frank) Thomas both of Salt Lake City, UT; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; four sisters: Genevieve (Bill) Mackey of Logandale, NV, Afton (R.L.) Tribute by great-granddaughter, Shani Lorraine Jewkes, "Not quite two months ago my great grandma had to say goodbye to the love of her life of almost 72 years. During the night she passed on to join him in their happy ever after. Words can't express the love and joy those two extremely special individuals gave all of us over the years. My heart is torn that we don't have them anymore, but is thrilled that they're together again. She didn't want to be here without her knight in shining armor and now they're together. Cheers to the best fairy tale this world has ever seen."
