Lorraine T. Martin Mortensen Gonzales (Linda) passed away on June 3, 2008 at her home in Mesquite, Nevada surrounded by her family. She was born April 12, 1929 in Guadalupita, New Mexico to James Willie Martin and Georgia Lucero Martin. She married Robert J. Mortensen and they adopted a daughter, Anita Mortensen Preece (Keith). They were later divorced. She married the love of her life, Esquipula Gonzales (Paul) in January 1977. Paul was devoted to Linda and took care of her during her years of illness.

Lorraine served in the Air Force during the Korean War. She was a very patriotic person and proud to be an American. She was at one time employed by the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden, Utah. She also worked as a counselor for the Clearfield Job Corps and as a teacher in the Head Start Program in Texas. She worked for the U.S. Justice Department in Las Vegas, Nevada and retired from there.

Lorraine had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest. She and Paul enjoyed traveling, dancing and spending time with family and friends. She volunteered in many capacities in the community over the years and enjoyed serving others. She loved a good cup of coffee and a piece of Marie Callendar's Pie.

She adored her grandchildren, Jamie and Skyler and experienced an even greater joy in her great grandchildren (Braxton and Kamryn). She was looking forward to the upcoming birth of great grand twins.

She is survived by her loving, devoted husband Paul; her daughter Anita, and son-in-law Keith; her grandchildren Jamie Preece Bowers (Travis) and Kimberly Bell Preece; great grandchildren Braxton Kyle Preece and Kamryn Lorraine Bowers; her sister and best friend Ella Elizabeth (Bessie) Lucero, and brother-in-law Pete. She was preceded in death by her brother Chester Martin and her grandson Skyler Keith Preece. Also surviving are nieces and nephews; her two stepchildren, Paula Gonzales Smith and Vincent Gonzales; her father and mother-in-law Diego and Senaida Gonzales; her sisters-in-law Joan Prinkey (Ben) and Mary Lou Montoya (Fred); and her brothers-in-law Felipe and Alex Gonzales.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 1:00 pm at Virgin Valley Mortuary in Mesquite, Nevada. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the memorial service. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 1:00 pm in North Ogden, Utah. Interment will be at the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden, Utah.
