Lori Lyn Singer

June 7, 1955 — July 22, 2010

Lori Lyn Singer, 55, after a courageous battle with breast cancer, passed away July 22, 2010 at Highland Manor in Mesquite, NV. She was born June 7, 1955 in St George, UT to Lee and Sarafern Gerkin Johnson.

She married Randy Woods in 1973 shortly after graduating from Virgin Valley High School. From this marriage 3 children were born: Jeremy, Melanie, and Rita . They later divorced.

On April 26, 1992 she married Charles Singer, and from this marriage 2 children were born: Allie and Josie.

Lori was raised in Mesquite, NV and her passion in life was anything to do with being in the outdoors and riding horses. She loved to compete and just being around them. Her passion for horses carried over into another passion, and that was painting. She was an amazing artist who could bring an animal to life on canvas which was true to the life she led.

One of her favorite places to be was on the pier in Oceanside, CA, where it stretches a quarter of a mile out into the ocean. She enjoyed trips to the east coast to see the Liberty Bell and Atlantic City. She also loved the big island of Hawaii, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas.

Lori spent a little time living in San Diego, CA, but Mesquite was her home. She saw the town grow from a little farm town to a thriving golf vacation destination. Everyone she knew or met was amazed by her quick wit and sense of humor, and she was loved by all who spent time with her. She was an amazing mom.

As a family that was with her in the end, we all know she got the last laugh of all. We do not mourn for Lori. We celebrate that we were able to spend time and enjoy the love she gave us. She will be in our hearts and prayers as she is with the greatest power of all, our God in Heaven.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents.

Lori was survived by her husband Charlie; children Jeremy (Chrissy) Woods, Melanie (Cory) Cottam, Rita (Shane) Cheeney, and Allie and Josie Singer; brothers Alan, Oren, and Randy Johnson; and grandchildren Ethan, Sam, and Ava Woods, Kessa, Korbi, Kya, and Kailei Cottam, Kelbee and Derek Cheeney, and Wylee Mitchell.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Terrace Restaurant at Wolf Creek on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 12:00 PM- ??
