Loren Hilry Giles, 71, passed away April 16, 2022 in Mesquite, NV. He was born February 9, 1951 at Travis Air Force Base, CA to William Alfred Giles and Julia Mae Glenn. Loren married Laraine Privett, November 11, 1972 and later divorced after they went on in different paths. During this time, Loren welcomed two children; Natalie and Christopher. After 42 years apart, Loren and Laraine were reunited, being married again August 29, 2015.
Loren graduated from Orem High School, Orem, UT. After graduating he entered the Marine Corp. Loren loved his family deeply, he also had a love of reading, music, fishing (mostly fly fishing). He traveled a lot and enjoyed golfing.
Loren worked many years for U.S. West Yellow Pages as a sales representative and later as a Police Officer in Georgia, until due to health issues, he was forced to retire.
Loren is survived by his wife, Laraine; Mesquite, NV, son; Christopher, Portland, OR, sisters; Judith (Dennis) Lauenstein, Provo, UT, Terry Guyett, Olustee, OK, many nephews and nieces. Extended family; Carol Barney, Elmer Giles, two step-granddaughters, Amy Davis, Kristin Butterfield and seven great grandchildren. Mister and Loren became the best of buddies. Loren was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Natalie, brother; William Giles, brother-in-law; Bill Guyett and Cindy Wilcox.
Loren’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will take place on June 18, 2022 at Spring Creek Park, 1140 So. State St., Provo, UT at 1:00 p.m. until we can’t celebrate any more. So bring all your memories with you to share. A light luncheon will be provided.
