Lita Fisher

Lita Vilate Fisher, 89, passed away on December 4, 2020 in St. George, UT. Lita was born on July 6, 1931 in Hazelton, ID to Lester James VanLeuven and Leona Vilate Park. At four years old, Lita’s family moved to Roberts, ID, where Lita helped on the farm and canned food. Her mother was the first person in the United States to start a school lunch program, and Lita would help her prepare and pack the lunches. After graduating high school, Lita went to study nursing and worked for twenty years in Eureka, CA caring for mentally ill patients. She married John Millholin on December 29, 1949 and they raised one daughter, Susan Millholin. They divorced after twenty-five years of marriage. Lita then married Joseph Phillips on May 20, 1976, and they had a wonderful marriage until his passing in 1986. She then married Wesley A. Fisher on April 2, 2002. She and Wesley met at dance, where Wes immediately asked her to dinner. She volunteered at the senior center in Overton, NV for twenty years. Lita loved to help people, and was searching for ways to serve. She loved to quilt and to sew, and would go fishing with Wes.

Lita is survived by one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and her sister, Ila Pyrah. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Millholin; a grandchild; and her siblings, Edsel, Ada Jones, Vail, Lee Roy, Myles, and Connie. She is survived by the loving children and grandchildren of Joseph Phillips and Wesley Fisher, to whom she was a loving step-mother and grandmother.

Services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary with interment following at Larkin Memorial Garden in Sandy, UT on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 12:00.
