Lida Ruth Oakley

September 12, 1964 — November 4, 2021

Desert Springs, AZ

Lida was born in New Milford, Connecticut to Catherine Beverly Reynolds and Fredrick George Oakley.  Lida met the love of her life January of 1996 and married David Myhaver July 3, 1999 their lives together were such an amazing adventure.

Lida enjoyed working at the VA in St. Petersburg Florida for 26 years. And loved the Veteran’s on 3C Urology Floor. David and Lida did a road trip in 1999 to Utah to visit friends ‘Gonzo” and Patti and on this trip they all went to Vegas and David and Lida got married at the little chapel of love, and honeymooned at Sams Town. Lida and her husband David moved first to Utah in 2000 and later 2006 moved to Desert Springs, AZ where they lived and Lida passed away at home after testing positive for Covid. Lida worked at Deep Roots in Mesquite, Nevada for 5 years and loved it and the people she worked with. David was Lida’s world and she his, they loved bonfires in the front yard and long talks. Lida loved their fur babies “4 cats” and all animals except David’s horse Jealousy, who bit her when she got in between them. Lida was very spiritual and loved to read her Bible.

Lida’s favorite thing to do was riding her Harley and her BMW Z3 convertible roadster. Lida loved Bryce Canyon and wanted to make this a destination for years to come. Lida loved to fish and camping, shooting and the great outdoors. Lida was a friend to all and loved people and treasured her conversations. Lida made friends everywhere she went. Lida loved going out with David to Peggy Sue’s and Mad Mikes in Mesquite; David and Lida did everything together and were hardly ever apart.

The saying, “Soul Mates” was created for these two, Lida’s life was David and his Lida. How to go on without his Beautiful Lady is unimaginable. So many memories, so many stories I will always treasure my Beautiful Wife.
