Lawrence Joseph Baudino

January 9, 1941 — November 20, 2020

Las Vegas, NV

Lawrence Joseph Baudino, 79, passed away on November 20, 2020 in his home in Las Vegas, NV. Larry was born on January 9, 1941 in East St. Louis, IL to Lawrence Vincent Baudino and Geraldine Maizie Bunyard. Larry grew up in Collinsville, IL surrounded by a large extended family. He was raised by his grandparents, and loved being around family. After he graduated high school, Larry joined the Navy and served on an aircraft carrier during the war.  After his grandparents passed away, he and his father bought their house. Larry went to work at Merrill-Lynch, a brokerage firm, where he met Sandra Louise Johnson. It was love at first sight, and they were married on Christmas Eve in 1966. In 1968 Larry and Sandra lost their son, Steven, at birth. Larry and Sandra worked together to overcome these trials as a young family. They later went on to raise their son, John Richard, and their daughter, Lynette.

Larry went to work for Union Electric at the power plant in 1970 as a unit control operator until he retired and moved to Las Vegas, NV in 2003. The couple raised their grandsons, Anthony and David, and became foster parents to many children during the years in Missouri. After retiring to Las Vegas, Sandra was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Larry was baptized a few years later. They were sealed in the Las Vegas, NV Temple on September 10, 2016. Everything Larry did was in the interest of spending time as a family with Sandra, Anthony and David. He was always watching children’s movies and westerns with the boys, and the family traveled all over the country, in their Camper, during the holidays. He was a wonderful father and husband.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sandra Baudino; his children, John and Lynette; his four grandchildren, Anthony, David (Holly), Michael, and Katelyn; and his great-grandchildren, Matthew, Ivory, Xander, and Braxton; and his sisters, Patricia and Myra. Larry is preceded in death by his son, Steven; his parents; and three of his three sisters Mary, Yvonne, and Janet.
