Laura Joanna Aveline, 82, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and wife, stepped into heaven on January 14, 2013 after an extended illness and under hospice care at her sons home in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born July 22, 1930 in Drain, Oregon to George B. and Armeda P. (Parry) Reed. Laura had a twin sister, Lenora, who preceded her in death in 2010. Laura and Lynn were extremely close. As children, their family lived in Roseburg and Sutherlin, Oregon, before moving to Phoenix, Arizona. At age 12, they moved to San Diego, California, then moved to North Bend, Oregon, where they attended Marshfield High School. Laura met William Aveline while attending Marshfield. She married William E. Aveline on October 23, 1949 in North Bend, Oregon. Laura was a homemaker during the early years of her marriage to William. She was a very loving and caring mother and wife to her three children and husband. Laura was a deputy sheriff at Wasco County Sheriff's Office in The Dalles, Oregon for 10 years. She worked as a court clerk for the Baker County Justice Court before retiring in Baker City, Oregon. She was active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Eagles in Baker City. Laura retired in 2002, then in February of that year Laura and William moved to Mesquite, Nevada. She is survived by her husband of 63 years. William, who is currently residing in Mesquite, NV; children, Randy (Donna) Aveline of Mesquite; David (Brenda) Aveline of Glade Hill, VA; Diana Aveline (Mike Dockery) of Mesquite; grandchildren Jennifer Aveline, Douglas Aveline, Heather McDonald (Robbie), Will Aveline, Tarah Ellis; great-grandchildren Gavin Reed, Sebastien Sofge, Toryahna Sofge, David Lee Aveline, brother Larry Reed (DeAnna), and several nieces and nephew. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, and her twin sister. The family will have a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mesa View Hospice (330 Falcon Ridge parkway, Bldg 200 Ste. A, Mesquite, NV 89027) are suggested. Arrangements have been made under the direction of the Virgin Valley Mortuary in Mesquite, Nevada.
