Larry Roland Reber, 69, passed away on May 20, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. Larry was born on May 9, 1950 in St. George, UT to LaRella Gifford and Roland Reber. He married Barbara Jean Matheson in Las Vegas, NV on June 24, 1994.

Larry was the oldest son, and he loved taking his family into the outdoors. He spent much of his time hunting, fishing, and just sitting by a campfire. He was ready to teach what he knew about these things to anyone who wanted to learn. He liked to drive in the hills, and explored much of the southern Nevada and Utah areas. Country music was such a big part of who he was. He played bass guitar and sang in a band, and loved listening to  Waylon Jennings. Larry loved stories, and was an avid reader, and preferred Stephen King or Louis L’Amour novels.

Larry worked hard to provide for his family. He loved to build things, and spent many years building swimming pools in the Las Vegas, NV area, and worked as a bartender at the Peppermill. In his younger years, Larry learned to be a meat-cutter. He and Jean liked to spend much of their time cooking, and would work together to find and sometimes improve the recipes they found. They found a joy in gardening and canning food together as well. Larry had a big heart, and could talk to anyone. He would do anything to help his family, or those near him.

Larry is survived by his wife; Jean Reber, his daughter; Kelli (Raphael) Ballard, his son; Chris Merchant, his mother; Lou Everette, his brother; Vern Reber, and his grandsons; Elias, Ezekiel, and Adyn. He is preceded in death by his father; Roland Reber, his brother; Randy Reber, his son; Michael Merchant, and his grandson; Xavier Ballard.

He family would like to express their deepest appreciation and thanks to the Mesa View Hospice, especially Karen and Veronica. The family invites you to leave a message at www.virginvalleymortuary.com.
