Larry Paul Ashinhurst

Larry Paul Ashinhurst, age 78, passed away, Tuesday, December 12, 2017 peacefully at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born July 13, 1939 in Glendale, Arizona to Paul Ernest and Edna Caroline Harris Ashinhurst. He married Christine Gillespie in Flagstaff, Arizona on December 24, 1969.
Larry grew up in Glendale, Arizona and attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff for one year before entering the US Air Force in 1959. After 8 years of service, he finished his degree at NAU and raised his family in Arizona and Utah before retiring in 2005. Larry loved being in the outdoors, especially the White Mountains, hunting, fishing, camping and off roading in his Rhino. Being with family made everything more enjoyable.
Survivors include his wife, Christine, daughter Heather Stone, and her husband Jason Stone, daughter Holly Ashinhurst, and her husband Danny Kelly, and honorary daughter Janell Kallas. Also granddaughter, Madison Stone Miller, and grandson, Oscar Kelly. He was preceded in death by sister, Patti and brother, Kenny.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 5 p.m. at the Red Coach LDS Chapel, 4525 N. Rainbow Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
