Kimberly Ann Hudrlik

February 9, 1947 — August 22, 2013

Kimberly Ann Hudrlik, 66, of Logandale, NV ended her difficult struggle with lymphoma on Thursday, August 22, 2013. She passed holding her husband's hand with her children by her side as the chaplain helped guide her path to heaven.

Kim was born February 9, 1947 in Duluth, MN to William August and Thelma Harriet (Hassell) Aho. She got a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Minnesota and practiced physical therapy many years at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. She married John Hudrlik in Roseville, MN on July 24, 1971, and had 2 children, John and Katie. They moved to Logandale in 1981 where she continued to practice her physical therapy through the local home health office. In the mid-1980's, she began work as an aide in the Special Ed program at Bowler Elementary. She enjoyed that work so much, she entered the special education program at UNLV and graduated with her Masters in Special Education in 1995 and began teaching her own class at Moapa Valley High School. She retired in 2007, and enjoyed traveling and being with her loved ones.

Kim was always looking to help others, and enjoyed volunteering for the American Legion Auxiliary, for the high school as a debate judge and for other groups.

Kim is survived by her mother, Thelma Aho of Las Vegas; brother Curt (Sarah) Aho of Virginia Beach, VA; husband, John D. Hudrlik; son, John (Abigail) Hudrlik of Foresthill, CA; daughter Katie (Shane) Krause of Reno, NV; and her 3 grandchildren - John Hudrlik, Reagan Hudrlik, and Alexander Krause.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. August 31 at St. John's Catholic Church. Friends and family are invited to join in the celebration of her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to go to the Southern NV Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 6280 S. Valley View Blvd. Suite 342, Las Vegas, NV 89118.
