Kevin Ronald Waters

Kevin Ronald Waters, age 54, died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born May 8, 1959 to Ronald Morgan and Retta Decker Waters in Cedar City, Utah. On May 21, 1982 he married Lori Ann Laycock in Lehi, Utah. They were later sealed in the Provo Temple.

Kevin grew up in various towns including Las Vegas, but he always considered Moapa Valley his home, permanently moving to Overton in 1989. He worked at the Reid Gardner Power plant for many years. He enjoyed mechanic work, operating heavy equipment and riding his four wheelers, but his greatest joy were his grandchildren. He was large in stature and had an even bigger heart. Kevin valued fiendship, once he made a friend, they were a friend for life. He will be remembered for his kindness and the joy he received from his family.

Survivors include his wife, Lori; two sons: Jestin (Taryn) of Las Vegas, NV; Deryck (Brittany) of Overton, NV; four grandchildren; his mother, Retta of Reno, NV; one brother and four sisters: Annette (Ross) Jones of St. George, UT; Ronda (Louie) Chambers of Reno, NV; Jolene (Brad) Tanner of Springville, UT; David Waters of Macon, GA and Kristine (Loren) Young of Ferron, UT. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Haylee; one brother, Rodger and by his father, Ronald.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Stake Center. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel.
