Kenneth Dean French, age 86, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at his home in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born March 24, 1933 in Pompeys Pillar, Montana to the late Guy Evert and Nellie Lorena Hickock French. Ken grew up on a ranch in Pompeys Pillar and he and his family lived briefly in Michigan before they settled back in Billings, Montana. After serving in the US Navy, he started a long and successful career in building infrastructure for roads, cities and bridges. He worked as an operating engineer and later superintended the jobs he was assigned. This work took him to jobs all over the country and into Saudi Arabia.
Once retired, he kept on the move, delivering motor homes to their new owners. On one such trip, he met his future wife in Decatur, Indiana. On February 14, 1999, he married Barbara Ann Cole at the Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada and after a year of traveling around the country they settled in Mesquite, Nevada. That wasn't the end of his travels, as he and Barb continued to explore the United States and Canada in their RV. He also enjoyed going on cruises and reading. Survivors include his wife Barbara of Mesquite, NV and one brother, Elden (Thais) of Billings, Montana as well as a large extended family.
