Kelly Dean Bryant, age 51, passed away suddenly while working at his family farm on Smith’s Mesa above Virgin, Utah on Friday, May 8, 2020. Kelly was born on June 12, 1968 to Garth and Dianne Bryant in Provo, Utah, joining a family of three proud older brothers. Their family was later blessed with a younger sister.
Born into a military family, he lived in many places including Okinawa, Texas, Utah, and Nevada. He attended high school at Cedar High for two years, before graduating from Lincoln County High School in 1986. Growing up, Kelly enjoyed participating in baseball, football, track and field, and wrestling with his family and teammates.
He attended Utah State University where he met his wife, Sandra Kay Williams. They were married in Duck Creek, Utah on June 10, 1989 and were later blessed with four amazing children. Kelly loved being with his family most, joining them in many adventures and being their biggest fan at all their activities. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, camping, hunting, and boating and spent many hours around the kitchen table playing cards and games. Kelly loved the family farm and spent countless weekends on the mountain. The many dad jokes and stories always kept everyone laughing and groaning. Despite all his practical jokes, Kelly’s main focus was helping others. Over the years, his home played host to countless people and animals in need. He would give anyone the shirt off his back and was never more than a phone call away. This caring nature led him to a career in law enforcement where he served honorably for almost 30 years.
He is survived by his wife Sandy; three daughters and one son: Karson, Taylor (William) Slack, Dylan, and Ty of Bunkerville, NV; one granddaughter Parker; his parents Garth and Dianne Bryant of Cedar City, UT; brothers Mark (Karen) of Boulder City, NV; Coy of Santa Clara, UT; and sister Ahmi (Jason) Halverson of Salt Lake City, UT as well as many other extended family members. Kelly is preceded in death by his brother Kendall and sister-in-law Carrie.
The Bryant family wishes to extend their gratitude to Virgin Valley Mortuary, emergency personnel, the law enforcement community he was a part of, and all our family and friends for their support during this time.
