Overton

Karen Denise Newton, 65, passed away on June 25, 2021 in St. George, UT. Karen was born on April 18, 1956 in the San Fernando Valley, CA to Max Kepler and Patricia Moorhouse. Karen loved spending time with her brothers, Denny and Ken, and her cousins, John, Christine, and Guy, listening to music, singing, and dancing, and playing at the beach. Karen worked at Technicolor for several years as an Film Technician. She met Kenny, and they were later married in Las Vegas, NV on May 5, 1982. Karen loved going to church and volunteering at the Cappalappa Store in Overton, NV.

She loved her children, and would always support them in their athletics and taking them to the Clark County Fair. She was an awesome, fun mom, who could make everyone smile. She had a joyful, contagious laugh. She would always help others, and will be remembered for her caring and considerate nature. Karen was a vibrant soul, one who literally lit up the room whenever she entered, even till she became less able to get around. Karen was still full of joy and always eager to enjoy and laugh with her family. They always came first for her. She was not only a mother and a wife. She was always cheering at every baseball and football game. She was a cook, a cleaner, and being our taxi driver. She always did everything with a smile on her face and love in her heart.

Karen is survived by her husband, Kenny Newton; her children, Trisha (Brian) Walker, Eric (Patricia) Newton, Max (Brittney) Newton, and Matthew (Sara) Newton; her grandchildren, Eric Jr., Gavin Kenneth, Brendan, Cody, Noah, with one on the way, and a large extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Max and Patricia Kepler.

A Celebration of Life was held in her honor. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their Guest Book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com.
