June Pulsipher

June Pulsipher, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, August 15, 2009 in Logandale, Nevada. She was born June 29, 1928 in St. George, Utah to Ira and Josepha Jane Abbott Leavitt. On September 5, 1946 she married her childhood sweetheart, Howard Kyle Pulsipher in Mesquite, Nevada. They were later sealed in the St. George LDS Temple.

June grew up in Mesquite, Nevada. Shortly after they were married, Howard got a job as foreman at the Hidden Valley Ranch near Moapa. There they raised three sons, Dennis, Billy and Dale. June and Howard later divorced. At that time, June moved to Logandale, where she lived until her death.

June worked at Grant Bowler Elementary School for 20 years as a teacher's aide. She became Grandma June to many children in the valley. She loved and worried about each one. She was active in the LDS Church where she served in several positions, including as Primary President for 14 years. She later served in the Las Vegas Temple.

Our mom will be remembered for her great pies and for making sure that no one left her home hungry. She never forgot a birthday.

Survivors include her three sons: Dennis (Rhonda) Pulsipher; Billy (Susan) Pulsipher; Dale (Lonia) Pulsipher all of Moapa, NV; 14 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra; one granddaughter, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Moapa LDS Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Mesquite City Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
