Julie Anne Kirk, age 45, died Saturday, April 2, 2011 peacefully at her home in Logandale, Nevada. She was born February 27, 1966 in Palo Alto, California to Lawrence Glenn and Joye Carpenter Handy. On January 17, 1987 she married Malcolm Glenn Kirk in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were sealed on August 24, 1996 in the Las Vegas LDS Temple. Julie attended school at Ricks College (BYU-Idaho) where she met her sweetheart. They were blessed with 4 wonderful boys. Julie was a devoted wife and mother and committed herself in the service of others and being an example to all those around her. She served with great passion in her callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Julie loved everyone and everyone loved her. She will be missed and always remembered for her happy smile and her loving hugs. Julie is survived by her husband, Malcolm, of Logandale, NV; four sons: Lance Michael of Logandale, NV; Bryce Alan serving in the Birmingham, Alabama, Mission; Chase Malcolm serving in the Santiago, Chile East Mission; Pierce James of Logandale, NV. Her mother, Joye Handy; two sisters: Laura Handy, West Valley City, UT; Sharon Voeks, Lehi, UT and two brothers; Alan Handy, Dublin, OH; David Handy, Strausberg, CO. She was preceded in death by her father Lawrence G. Handy. Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Stake Center. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 6 - 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary and also prior to the service Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the chapel. Interment will be at the Logandale Nevada Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
