Julia Elizabeth Bunnell, age 81, passed away January 13, 2011 at her home in Overton, Nevada. She was born November 27, 1929 in Provo, Utah to August Gell Lewis and Leah Mae Wright. On June 2, 1948 she married Max Edwin Bunnell in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Julia grew up in Provo, Utah. In 1954, she and Max moved to Overton, Nevada where Max began a long career as the high school art teacher. Julia taught speech and drama at MVHS during their first year in Moapa Valley. As children came along she supported Max in this career as she helped organize the Moapa Valley Art Guild. Together, with others, they organized many art shows over the years. She enjoyed making and painting porcelain dolls, sewing the Debonettes costumes and the theater costumes at both MVHS and Dixie College. She was always active in the LDS Church, serving in all the auxiliaries. She devoted her life to the church, to her children and to helping her husband in his career. She will be remembered for her love and service. Survivors include her husband, Max of Overton, NV; two daughters: Leah Mae (Donald) Rieske of Orem, UT; Edith Ann (William) Luce of Overton, NV; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two sisters: Rosella (Ross) Rieske and Ruth Johnson both of Provo, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents,one grandson, one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Overton 2nd Ward Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary and again from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Logandale Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
