Judy Shiplet
Judy Shiplet passed away early Thursday evening at her home in Mesquite, Nevada. After three years, she lost her battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, an incurable lung disease, on November 5, 2009 at the age of 68.
Judy was born on April 27, 1941 in Pueblo, CO to Claude and Helen LaFoe. After marrying her husband Phil in November of 1964, they settled in Fowler, CO, where they raised their three children, Deenna, Marla and David. Together they also owned and operated Fowler Super Market for 15 years until selling it in 1991. In 1998, tired of the cold weather, Phil and Judy moved to Mesquite, NV. Most people knew Judy from the Casa Blanca where she was a supervisor at the Purple Fez CafAC. for eight years. It was here, in the little town she loved living in, she passed away. Judy was a devoted wife, loving mother and a true friend. Her friendly smile and sweet disposition will be missed by many.
Judy leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Phil Shiplet (Mesquite), two daughters, Dee Dee Shiplet (Swink)and Marla Shiplet-Kissick (Pueblo); her son, David Shiplet (Mesquite); two brothers, Jim LaFoe (Denver) and Bob LaFoe (Pueblo); and three grandchildren, Ray, Sari and Dara.
The Shiplet family would like to ask that you please donate to your local hospice in lieu of flowers.
