Joy Ray Riggs

Joy R. Riggs, 50, passed away on August 31, 2020 in her home in Overton, NV surrounded by her loved ones. Joy was born on December 13, 1969 in Las Vegas, NV to Thurman Ray Jones and Mary Frances Elliott. She was the youngest child, and looked up to her older brother and sister. Shortly after graduating from high school, Joy was swept off her feet by Roger Jon Riggs Jr., and they were married in Las Vegas, NV on December 18, 1991. They lived in Las Vegas for many years, raising their two daughters. Joy spent much of her time caring for her family, but would often work at a local grocery store. Then she and Roger moved to Moapa Valley in 2016 and began to work at Lin’s, and quickly became a supervisor.  People would make it a point to go through her line because of her smile and bubbly personality.

Joy’s focus was always her family and spending time with Roger, her daughters, and her granddaughter. They would find reasons to go out to eat together. She loved marvel comic movies.

Joy is survived by her husband, Roger Jon Riggs Jr.; her daughters, Jessie Joy (Tyler) Nuttall and Jodie Ray Riggs; her granddaughter, Rylie Ray; her siblings, Jon (Stephanie) Jones and Jill James, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Mary Jones.

Joy was always grateful for those that cared for her and her family during her illness, and those that helped her fight to the end. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their Guest Book.
